With more than 200 active volunteers who give over 30,000 hours annually to Hospice of North Central Ohio, we are truly a community resource. Our volunteers and the services they provide not only meet many needs, but also set us apart. If you would like to become a volunteer, please contact us . - Companion Volunteer
Interacts with a patient and the patient's family in a home setting or nursing home, providing companionship and comfort. - Puppy Love Volunteer
Visits with their certified therapy dogs to share tender affection and add worth to daily living for terminally ill patients and their families. - Bereavement Volunteer
Provides support to Hospice family members by making telephone calls, sending cards, and taking care of personal correspondence after a loved one has died. - Special Projects Volunteer
Assists with county fairs, fund raisers, special crafts, and baking cookies for Hospice functions. - Gardening Volunteer
Keeps the Hospice Memorial Walkway and office gardens groomed. - Transportation Volunteer
Provides transportation to fill special needs of Hospice patients. - Office Volunteer
Provides assistance to Hospice clerical staff, including phone answering and mailings. - Marketing Team Volunteer
Assists in various community relations projects such as distributing flyers and brochures and working on special events. - Thrift Shoppe Volunteer
Helps at the What Goes 'Round Thrift Shoppe in Mansfield, Ohio with a variety of duties that may include sorting, cleaning and pricing donated items. - Special Wishes
Raises funds through a variety of ways to purchase special items provided to Hospice patients. Some items purchased in the past include a Clarity phone for the hearing impaired, baby monitors, supplies and labor for building wheel chair ramps, and special dinners. - Prayer Shawl Ministry
Makes prayer shawls for bereaved family members of patients who died in Hospice House. Shawls are also given to support group members on their final meeting day. Donations of yarn or money to purchase yarn for this ministry are greatly appreciated as well.
