Hospice Care Settings

Hospice of North Central Ohio provides care in the home, in nursing homes, assisted living facilities or at Hospice House. If care is provided in an extended living facility, Hospice of North Central Ohio staff does not replace the nursing care currently being provided. Rather, we partner with the extended care facilities to provide additional end of life services including: extra nurse aides, extra nursing services, extra social services, extra specialized medical equipment, extra therapeutic treatments, extra chaplain services, complementary therapies, and volunteers.

Hospice House

Care can also be provided in the patient's own home or at Hospice House, a beautiful, twelve-bed inpatient center located at 1050 Dauch Drive in Ashland, Ohio. Hospice House is available to patients who meet one of the following criteria:

  • assistance with pain or symptom management
  • medication adjustment
  • observation or other stabilizing treatment
  • short-term respite care for caregiver relief
  • transitional care from the hospital to home.

Patients are encouraged to bring personal items from home to display in their room. All patient rooms are equipped with a flat screen television, DVD/VCR player, CD player/radio, internet access, and two telephones for patients and their families to use.
