Hospice Chaplain

Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Patient Services, the Hospice Chaplain is responsible for assessing, developing and implementing effective interventions for meeting the spiritual needs of all Hospice clients and families. This might include direct intervention by the Hospice Chaplain or communication with local clergy. S/he is responsible for providing spiritual counsel and emotional support to active bereaved Hospice client and family units when indicated by family need or desire.
S/he works to supplement the ministry of the client and family members' own clergy when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology (B.D., M.Div. or equivalent theological degree) that qualifies him/her to serve as an ordained minister
- Specialty in pastoral care and counseling
- Must be comfortable in an interfaith setting.
