About Hospice of North Central Ohio...
Hospice of North Central Ohio provides end of life services that addresses the physical, spiritual and emotional health, focusing on life until the time comes for a peaceful and dignified death. We often hear from our patients and families that they wish they would have contacted us sooner. However, acknowledging the need for, and accepting end of life care, is sometimes even harder than dealing with death. But end of life care does not mean you have given up hope.
Generally, Hospice of North Central Ohio cares for those with a life expectancy of 6 months or less. With doctors, nurses, social workers, hospice aides, chaplains and companion volunteers, the longer a patient is in our care, the more our highly-skilled team can help.
Care can be provided in the home, in an extended care facility, or at Hospice House in Ashland, Ohio. Hospice of North Central Ohio is the only local Hospice that offers the comfort of three complementary therapies: aroma therapy, music therapy and pet therapy.
Hospice of North Central Ohio also offers comprehensive Bereavement Services, including support groups, educational programs, and Kidscene, a week-long camp for children. We differ from other Hospice organizations in that our Bereavement Services benefit anyone in the community, at any time.
Hospice Care
We encourage you to initiate an open and honest discussion about Hospice care with your doctor and your family before there is a need for our services. When it is time, engage Hospice of North Central Ohio with the promise of spending quality moments with loved ones. The opportunity to say goodbye and prepare is a blessing which we are honored to share with you.
As a non-profit organization, Hospice of North Central Ohio, Inc. is an agency of: United Way of Ashland County; Shelby United Fund; New London United Fund; and Mohican Area Community Fund. Hospice of North Central Ohio serves Ashland, Richland, Crawford and Huron Counties.
