Bereavement Support Groups

At Hospice of North Central Ohio, we offer short-term support groups and ongoing support groups to provide support and a safe setting in which to share your feelings and experiences. Support Groups for Adults

Adult Bereavement Support Groups
The Adult Bereavement Support Groups are designed to provide a safe setting to share feelings and experiences, learn about the grieving process, recognize normal grief reactions, and to promote and support healthy ways of coping. These short-term support groups meet for a period of 6 to 8 weeks, and are offered throughout the year.

General Support Groups
Specialized groups for adults whose parents have died, young widows/widowers, and retired widows/widowers are available at Hospice of North Central Ohio. Please call for support group dates, times and locations.

Grievers of Suicide Support Group
This support group is for those who have had someone they love die by suicide. Meetings are held at Hospice House the second Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m.

Parents Group
This ongoing support group is for parents who have lost a child of any age. It meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at Hospice House, 1050 Dauch Drive in Ashland.


Support Groups for Children

KidSupport
KidSupport is offered periodically throughout the school year. It is designed for bereaved children in kindergarten through sixth grade, helping them understand the grieving process by using art, music, puppets and play. Teen support groups are offered on an as-needed basis.


Support Groups for Women

Circle of Hope
This is an ongoing support group designed for women who have experienced the loss of a spouse. The group gathers at Hospice House, 1050 Dauch Drive in Ashland, the second Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m.

Good Mourning Luncheon Group
The Good Mourning Luncheon Group is for women whose spouse has died. The ongoing support group meets the first Monday of each month at 11 a.m. at Hospice House, 1050 Dauch Drive in Ashland.


Support Groups for Men

Men's Dinner Group
For men who have experienced the death of a spouse, this ongoing support group meets the third Monday of each month at 4:30 p.m. at Hospice House, 1050 Dauch Drive in Ashland.

       Men's Lunch Bunch
      This is an ongoing support group designed for men who have experienced the loss of a spouse or significant other.       This group meets the fourth Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at Perkins Family Restaurant on Route 250       in Ashland.
