Realizing the great therapeutic benefit of formal memorial services to honor loved ones, Hospice of North Central Ohio offers several throughout the year. Since we are a community hospice, everyone is welcome to attend, even those who had not had a hospice experience. Please email us or call 419-281-7107 or 800-952-2207 for more information.
Memorial Walkway Service
Dedicated in 1996, the Memorial Walkway was built to provide a place for bereaved families and friends to add an engraved brick in memory or honor of a loved one--a place to reflect and remember. Each spring, a Memorial Walkway service is held to dedicate the bricks added during the year. Please contact Hospice of North Central Ohio to learn about adding a brick to the Memorial Walkway, located behind Hospice House in Ashland, Ohio.
Tree of Lights
Each holiday season,Trees of Light are lit in communities throughout North Central Ohio. Families and friends have the opportunity to dedicate lights in memory or honor of loved ones. A Tree of Lights Service is held each December to serve as a time of remembrance, reflection, and celebration.
Service of Remembrance
Held annually, the Service of Remembrance provides bereaved families and friends an opportunity to celebrate the lives of their loved ones.
Worldwide Candle Lighting Event
The Worldwide Candle Lighting Event is held in December at
7 p.m. for one hour in every time zone to recreate a 24-hour wave of light that encircles the globe to honor and remember all children who have died. Parents are also encouraged to display a framed picture of their child during the service. Since many parents express a desire to give a gift in memory of their beloved son or daughter, they are welcome to provide a gift, either wrapped or unwrapped.
